Location
Located in the Sindhudurg district of Maharashtra by the Konkan coast, Kunkeshwar is a small peaceful town with historical roots. The Kunkeshwar Temple that is right along the coast is dedicated to Lord Shiva dates back to 1100 A.D. and brings in many pilgrims. The temple, which was even frequently visited by Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, is its liveliest during Mahashivratri. The Kunkeshwar Beach is also a great place to spot dolphins, who venture close enough to be spotted from the shores.
